MAKE A PLAN
Before we hit the trail, Down 2 Bike Project wants to personalize your coaching plan. You'll receive a questionnaire that will help us understand who you are as a rider and what skills you'd like to work on. It also helps us choose a trail to ride based on your ability level.
WE MEET UP
You'll receive an email or phone call confirming the date and time of the lesson. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to sign waivers, get your lift pass and bike ready, and pick up any last minute necessities in the Brundage Bike Shop. The first part of every lesson will be spent warming up practicing braking and body-positioning. This will help us get to know your comfort level on a bike and determine when to move the lesson to the trail.
Skills development varies depending on your focus. For example, if you're wanting to focus on efficient braking, we may start the lesson on flat terrain and learn foundational tips that help you excel in brake control and technique. Once the technique has been learned, we will move the lesson to the trail and maybe even session a few features or corners.
WHAT DOES SESSION MEAN?
It basically means to practice something over and over again, looking at different ways to maneuver around or over an obstacle and allowing time for you to get comfortable performing the skill. Your instructor shows you, you'll show them, and then repeat. Fun!
THE FOLLOW UP
We'll send out a post-ride survey and check in to see how if you've been practicing your new skills and if you had any questions on what you learned.
